Window treatments are tailor-made for your windows; nothing comes out of a box. Our workroom makes everything to your exact specifications from stitch length, to hem allowance, the quality is guaranteed 100%.
The quality of our upholstery is top notch whether making new custom pieces or re-upholstering modern or antique furniture. We do not take short cuts or sacrifice the integrity of our work or service. It's important to keep this in mind when getting estimates from various companies. Remember, price isn't everything.
Proper fullness is the key to a custom look. Most ready-mades have only 1-1½ to 2 times fullness(4-5 inches between each pleat). Ours are made with the right fullness for the chosen fabric, usually 2½ to 3 times(3-3.7 inches between each pleat). Pleats are deep for a sumptuous look.
Our custom draperies feature 4-inch weighted double hems and 1 to 1½-inch double side hems. Trimmings are hand-sewn or machine-sewn as appropriate. Mounting boards for shades and valances are covered so they look good from any angle.

-Why upholster my furniture if I can buy new furniture for the same amount or less?
The price of brand new furniture really depends on the quality of the pieces. High end, well made
brand new pieces can easily cost thousands of dollars.
Factors that determine quality are: the type of wood the frame is made of, the type of cuts and thicknesses
of the wood, springs(cost more) vs. webbing(cost less), the type of material the webbing is made of,
type of foam, the refinishing, just to name a few. Places where you can buy 3 piece sets for under a thousand
are made of plywood or cheap pine(the cheap pine wood or plywood has thin cuts which compromises the
strength of the frame), have cheap webbing, and really bad quality foam that will loose its firmness
in 3-5 months.
Upholstery really is meant for high end and/or well made furniture. The cost of the upholstery
will definitely cost more than brand new inexpensive, poor quality furniture.
-Aren't window treatments the same whether from D'Casa or some big chain stores that advertise in the popular media with seemingly great deals?
As mentioned earlier, the quality is not the same due to the various factors mentioned at the top of the page. Like well made fine furniture, window treatments are no exception and can easily cost thousands. Aside from the quality of the work, the size and type of fabric also have a great deal to do with the cost of the window treatments. However, D'Casa will offer good quality work which will never be compromised regardless of whether the fabric is costly or inexpensive.
Think of the big chain stores offering window treatments as the fast food chains of the industry and not fine dining. Even D'Casa's comparable window treatments made with the same fabric are of better quality.
